“Our story”
Once upon a time, YUFTEN was born from an artistic and human encounter between ceramics and metal. In an environment where passion and craftsmanship are passed down, a training center for fire arts, dedicated to teaching traditional and contemporary techniques using materials such as ceramics and metal, Imen MRAD, a ceramicist and artist, and Firas BEN DAAMECH, a sculptor specializing in artistic wrought ironwork, both holding advanced degrees, met for the first time in 2014 in this space conducive to creativity.

Once upon a time, YUFTEN was born from an artistic and human encounter between ceramics and metal. In an environment where passion and craftsmanship are passed down, a training center for fire arts, dedicated to teaching traditional and contemporary techniques using materials such as ceramics and metal, Imen MRAD, a ceramicist and artist, and Firas BEN DAAMECH, a sculptor specializing in artistic wrought ironwork, both holding advanced degrees, met for the first time in 2014 in this space conducive to creativity.

Their meeting was not a matter of chance. As they exchanged ideas, Imen and Firas recognized the complementary potential of their respective disciplines. On one side, ceramics, with its fluid and organic forms, and on the other, metal, both solid and timeless. This union of materials promised to open new avenues for creating objects that are both artistic and functional. Throughout their artistic collaboration, Imen and Firas saw their relationship evolve into a deeper bond, culminating in a romantic connection that was formalized by their marriage in 2017. This union not only strengthened their shared passion but also enriched their creative work with a new intensity. The synergy of their talents, along with their romantic fusion marked by the arrival of their twins, has created a perfect harmony between art, life, and the nature around them, becoming an endless source of inspiration for their creations.

Together, they discovered in this venture a way to fully express their creativity and share their artistic vision with the world, giving rise to a space where inspiration and boldness come together to create unique and captivating works.
This shared passion for art and innovation drove Imen and Firas to establish a workshop shortly thereafter dedicated to the research and creation of art objects, along with their brand: YUFTEN! Together, they discovered in this venture a way to fully express their creativity and share their artistic vision with the world, giving rise to a space where inspiration and boldness come together to create unique and captivating works.

This manufacturing workshop, established in the heart of the gentle island of Djerba, renowned as one of the oldest coastal cities in the Mediterranean, is a workspace where two worlds meet and merge: that of ceramics and that of metal, in a unique alchemy combining the traditions of know-how inherited from Antiquity with modern techniques and designs. Today, Imen and Firas are experiencing promising growth! United by their innovative vision, they are determined to pursue their ambitions and dreams of promoting and exporting their crafts even more internationally.
